Biography
Claude-Oliver Rudolph is a German actor, producer, screenwriter and film director. Born on 30 November 1956 in Frankfurt am Main, he grew up in Bochum and began making films at fifteen. At eighteen he was discovered as a stage actor by Peter Zadek and later performed at theatres including the Volksbühne in Berlin. He studied philosophy, psychology and dramatics, attended the Actors Studio in New York, and worked as an assistant to Jiří Menzel.
Rudolph made his screen debut in Wolfgang Petersen's Das Boot (1981) as Ario. He is also known for the role of Colonel Akakievich in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough (1999) and as Bruno Kruska in the series Rote Erde (1983). He has appeared in numerous German television productions and films, often in supporting roles. Rudolph has also worked as a writer and producer on several projects and was married to actress Sabine von Maydell from 1984 until their divorce in 2014.
