Biography
Courtney Lilly is an American television writer and producer. He graduated with a BA from Columbia University in 1997 and worked as a journalist at the Providence Journal-Bulletin before winning a Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship in 2000.
Lilly began his television career writing for Invader ZIM (2002) and Arrested Development (2004–2005), where he received writer and story credits. He later wrote episodes of Everybody Hates Chris (2005), My Boys (2006–2009) and The Cleveland Show (2011–2013).
He joined black-ish as co-executive producer in its first season and became showrunner from season six in 2019. He has also served as showrunner on the spin-offs mixed-ish and grown-ish. Lilly has received Emmy nominations and a Peabody Award for his work on black-ish.
