Biography
Lev L. Spiro is an American television and film director. He earned dual bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a master's degree in Film Production from the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career directing feature films for Roger Corman before moving into television.
Spiro has directed episodes of series including Arrested Development (2003), Weeds, Ugly Betty, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., Modern Family, My Name Is Earl, Everybody Hates Chris and Orange Is the New Black. His television films include Minutemen (2008), which received a Directors Guild of America nomination, and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program. He also directed Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland (2016).
He is married to screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg.
