Biography

Craig Stearns is an American production designer and art director. He grew up in Vermont and began making films while at high school. After studying pre-med at the University of Vermont he transferred to the USC film programme, where he met director John Carpenter.

Stearns worked with Carpenter on early films including Halloween (1978), Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) and The Fog (1980), initially in set decoration, property and art direction roles. He has worked primarily as a production designer since 1982. His credits include The Mask (1994), Big Momma's House (2000), Grimm (2011–2012) and Halt and Catch Fire (2014–2016). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on the latter series.
