Biography
Dan Futterman is an American actor and screenwriter. Born on 8 June 1967 in Silver Spring, Maryland, he graduated from Columbia University in 1989. He began his career in theatre, appearing in the Broadway production of Angels in America, before making his film debut in The Fisher King (1991).
Futterman played Val Goldman in the 1996 film The Birdcage. He later appeared as Vincent Gray in the television series Judging Amy (1999–2005) and took roles in films including Enough (2002), A Mighty Heart (2007) and Kill the Messenger (2014).
As a screenwriter, Futterman wrote the screenplay for Capote (2005), for which he received an Academy Award nomination. He received a second nomination for co-writing Foxcatcher (2014). He has also worked as a producer on series including The Looming Tower (2018).
