Biography
Dana Bunescu is a Romanian film editor and sound editor. Born on 11 September 1969 in Craiova, she studied physics at the University of Bucharest before training in multimedia, editing and sound at the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film (UNATC) in Bucharest.
She is known for her work on key films of the Romanian New Wave, including editing and sound editing on Cristian Mungiu’s 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) and Tales from the Golden Age (2009). Other notable credits include sound design on Beyond the Hills (2012) and Aferim! (2015), and both editing and sound design on Călin Peter Netzer’s Ana, My Love (2017).
Bunescu received the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival for Ana, My Love and has won multiple Gopo and UCIN awards for editing and sound.
