Biography
Daniel Gerson was an American screenwriter and voice actor. He co-wrote the screenplay for Monsters, Inc. (2001) with Andrew Stanton and provided the voices of the characters Needleman and Smitty. He later collaborated with Robert L. Baird on the screenplays for Monsters University (2013) and Big Hero 6 (2014).
Gerson studied for an MFA at New York University after graduating from Cornell University. He began his career writing for television series including Something So Right before joining Pixar in 1999. He contributed additional material to several other Pixar and Disney animated films, including Chicken Little (2005), Cars (2006), Meet the Robinsons (2007), Up (2009) and Inside Out (2015). Gerson was a BAFTA award winner.
