Biography

Daniel T. Thomsen is an American television writer and producer. Born in Syracuse, New York, he began his career with a writing credit on the CBS crime drama Close to Home (2006). He served as a staff writer on the Fox science-fiction series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008), contributing three scripts across its two seasons.

Thomsen later wrote episodes for Melrose Place (2009–2010) and worked on the first three seasons of Once Upon a Time (2011–2014), receiving writing and producer credits. He co-wrote an episode of the HBO series Westworld (2016) with Lisa Joy. Subsequent credits include Time After Time (2017), The Passage (2019) and Batwoman (2019). He is co-showrunner of the ABC series Will Trent (2023–).

His work on Westworld earned Writers Guild of America Award nominations for drama series and new series.
