Biography
Darrell Zwerling (9 September 1928 – 11 April 2014) was an American character actor in film and television. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he worked as an optometrist before beginning his acting career in the late 1960s. He is best known for portraying Hollis I. Mulwray in Roman Polanski's Chinatown (1974).
Zwerling appeared in numerous films and television series through the 1970s and 1980s. His other notable screen roles include Mr. Lynch in Grease (1978), Dr. Bergen in Capricorn One (1977), and Dr. Eckhardt in High Anxiety (1977). He also had guest parts in series such as Columbo and Murder, She Wrote. He trained at the Juilliard School and was active until the early 1990s.
