Biography
David McCallum was a Scottish actor and musician. Born in Glasgow on 19 September 1933, he died in New York on 25 September 2023. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career in British theatre, radio and film in the early 1950s.
McCallum became widely known for playing secret agent Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964–1968). His film roles include Eric Ashley-Pitt in The Great Escape (1963) and Jim Abbott in Hear My Song (1991). From 2003 until his death he played Dr Donald 'Ducky' Mallard in the series NCIS.
