Biography

David Meyer (born 24 July 1947) is an English actor from Watford, Hertfordshire. He frequently appeared alongside his twin brother Anthony (Tony) Meyer in film and stage roles.

He is known for playing one of the Poulenc brothers in Peter Greenaway's The Draughtsman's Contract (1982) and the knife-throwing assassin Mischka (credited as Twin One) in the James Bond film Octopussy (1983). Other screen credits include An Englishman's Castle (1978), Bent (1997) and London Spy (2015).

Meyer has a background in Shakespearean theatre, with early Royal Shakespeare Company work and later appearances with Shakespeare's Globe; he has also portrayed Isaac Newton on stage.
