Biography
David Moritz is an American film editor. He began his career in the 1980s as an apprentice sound editor on films including Silverado (1985) and St. Elmo's Fire (1985), later working as an assistant editor on titles such as Dick Tracy (1990). His first credited editing work came on Sleep with Me (1994).
Moritz edited Bottle Rocket (1996) and Jerry Maguire (1996, as co-editor). He has edited numerous features including Rushmore (1998), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), Elizabethtown (2005), Freedom Writers (2007), P.S. I Love You (2007), Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009), Beautiful Creatures (2013) and The Space Between Us (2017). He has also worked on additional editing for films such as Trainwreck (2015). Moritz was born in Royal Oak, Michigan.
