Biography
David Permut is an American film producer. Born on 23 March 1954 in New York City, he began his career in the 1970s and has produced or executive produced dozens of films and television projects over more than four decades.
His early credits include the 1975 film Give 'em Hell, Harry!, followed by studio comedies such as Dragnet (1987) and Blind Date (1987), and the action film Face/Off (1997). Later productions encompass Charlie Bartlett (2008), Youth in Revolt (2009), Hacksaw Ridge (2016) and The Polka King (2017). He also produced The Invite (2026), directed by Olivia Wilde.
Permut has received Academy Award and Emmy Award nominations, and won a Grammy Award for Give 'em Hell, Harry!.
