Biography
Denis Podalydès is a French actor, screenwriter and theatre director. Born on 22 April 1963 in Versailles, he trained at the Cours Florent and the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique before making his stage debut in 1988.
He joined the Comédie-Française as a pensionnaire in 1997 and became a sociétaire in 2000. Podalydès has appeared in more than 140 films and television productions since 1989, including Caché (2005) as Yvon, The Da Vinci Code (2006) and The Conquest (2011) as Nicolas Sarkozy. He frequently collaborates with his brother, director Bruno Podalydès.
He has received César Award nominations for supporting roles and for original screenplay, and Molière Awards for theatre work.
