Biography

Derek Deadman (11 March 1940 – 22 November 2014) was an English character actor. He appeared in numerous British films and television series from 1972 to 2010, often in minor roles.

His film credits include The Canterbury Tales (1972) as The Pardoner, Time Bandits (1981) as Robert, Brazil (1985) as Bill in the Department of Works, National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985) as a taxi driver, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) as Kneelock, and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) as Tom, the bartender at the Leaky Cauldron. On television, he played Ringo in 39 episodes of Never the Twain (1981–1991), Rankin in Get Some In! (1975 and 1978), and Stor, a Sontaran commander, in the Doctor Who serial The Invasion of Time (1978).
