Biography
Diana Scarwid is a retired American actress. Born on 27 August 1955 in Savannah, Georgia, she moved to New York City at the age of 17 to pursue acting. She graduated simultaneously from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Pace University as an honours student.
Scarwid received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Inside Moves (1980) and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Truman (1995). Her film credits include Pretty Baby (1978), Mommie Dearest (1981), Rumble Fish (1983) as Cassandra, Silkwood (1983), Psycho III (1986) and What Lies Beneath (2000). She appeared in numerous television series and films, with recurring roles including Mother Superior in Pushing Daisies (2007).
