Biography
Diego Gutierrez is a Mexican-American television writer, producer and showrunner. Born in 1976 in Mexico City, he studied at Fay School and Wesleyan University before moving to Los Angeles.
He began his career as personal assistant to Joss Whedon on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, later writing the season six episode 'Normal Again' (2002). Subsequent writing credits include Dawson's Creek (2001–2002), The Shield (2004), Without a Trace (2005–2009), V (2009), Warehouse 13 (2012–2014) and From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (2014–2016), on which he also directed an episode.
Gutierrez created the Netflix series Monarca (2019–2021) and has written for One Piece (2023).
