Biography
Scott Brazil (1955–2006) was an American television producer and director. He graduated from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
Brazil began his career as an associate producer on The White Shadow (1979–1981). He worked on Hill Street Blues (1981–1986) as associate producer, producer and supervising producer, winning Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series in 1983 and 1984 and a Golden Globe in 1983.
He directed episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), Nash Bridges (1996), JAG (1995), CSI: Miami (2002), Nip/Tuck (2003) and Grey's Anatomy (2005). Brazil served as executive producer on The Shield (2002), directing 11 episodes and sharing in its 2003 Golden Globe for best drama series. He died in Sherman Oaks, California, from complications of ALS and Lyme disease.
