Biography
Domee Shi (Chinese: 石之予) is a Canadian animator, film director and screenwriter. She joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2011 as a storyboard artist and contributed to films including Inside Out (2015), The Good Dinosaur (2015), Incredibles 2 (2018) and Toy Story 4 (2019).
Shi directed the short film Bao (2018), which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. She made her feature debut as director of Turning Red (2022) and co-directed Elio (2025) with Madeline Sharafian. She is also credited with the story for Elio.
