Biography
Don Macaulay is a Canadian production designer and art director. He trained in architecture in Nova Scotia before entering film as a set designer and advancing to art direction and production design roles on feature films and television.
He has worked as supervising art director on numerous large-scale productions including Elysium (2013), Tomorrowland (2015), Star Trek Beyond (2016) and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). As production designer he has contributed to series such as The Last of Us (2023–), Family Law (2021) and Motive (2013).
Macaulay has received multiple Emmy nominations for production design, including for The Last of Us, as well as Art Directors Guild nominations and a Leo Award for Here's to Life! (2000). He is based in Vancouver.
