Biography
Donald L. Gold is a producer, writer, director and production manager. Born on 15 December 1924 in Glasgow, Scotland, he began his career in the 1950s with assistant director and unit manager roles before moving into writing and producing for American television.
He contributed stories and teleplays to The Rockford Files in the 1970s, including the final regular episode. Gold served as co-producer and in production management on Miami Vice (1984–1989) and later produced multiple seasons of Diagnosis: Murder (1990s–2000s), also directing episodes of the series. Other credits include writing for The Six Million Dollar Man and CHiPs, and producing, writing and directing the 2002 feature Sex and the Teenage Mind.
