Biography

Russ Mayberry was an American television director. Born Russell Bradley Mayberry on 22 December 1925 in Duluth, Minnesota, he served as a naval aviator during the Second World War before studying at Northwestern University. He began his career in television in 1947 as a stagehand in Chicago and later directed episodes of numerous series.

Mayberry's credits include episodes of The Monkees, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Brady Bunch, Kojak (1973–1978), The Rockford Files (1974–1977), Miami Vice, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Matlock. He also directed television films and the feature Unidentified Flying Oddball (1979). His final credit was an episode of Pointman in 1995. He died on 27 July 2012 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
