Biography
Donna Lynne Champlin is an American actress. She was born on 21 January 1971 in Rochester, New York, and studied musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a BFA in 1993. She also trained in Shakespeare and Chekhov at the University of Oxford.
Champlin is best known for playing Paula Proctor in the CW series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015–2019). Her other screen credits include roles in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014), Downsizing (2017), The Good Doctor (2017), Feel the Beat (2020) and Yes, God, Yes (2020), as well as appearances in Law & Order and The Good Wife.
A stage performer with Broadway credits including James Joyce's The Dead, By Jeeves and Sweeney Todd, she has received awards such as an Obie Award for The Dark at the Top of the Stairs and a Drama Desk Award for Working: A Musical.
