Biography
Douglas Crise is an American film editor. Born on 1 May 1961 in Smithton, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in film studies before moving to Los Angeles to work in the film industry.
Crise began as an assistant editor and formed a long collaboration with Stephen Mirrione, starting with Clockwatchers (1997). They co-edited Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Babel (2006), receiving a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing and winning the ACE Eddie Award for Best Edited Feature Film – Dramatic (in a tie).
His editing credits include Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014), Spring Breakers (2013), Gold (2016), Dark Places (2015) and Trust (2010). He has also worked as an assistant editor on Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005).
