Biography

Ed Crowley (1926–2013) was an American actor. He was born in Lewiston, Maine, and died in Asheville, North Carolina. He appeared in five films directed by Sidney Lumet: Serpico (1973), Network (1976), Garbo Talks (1984), Running on Empty (1988) and Family Business (1989).

His film roles included Barto in Serpico, Joe Donnelly in Network, the Ordinance Man in Three Days of the Condor (1975), the Sheriff in Witness (1985) and Mr Phillips in Running on Empty. He also worked in television, with appearances in series such as Kojak and Ryan's Hope. Crowley had a stage career that included Broadway roles in Make a Million (1958) and The Family Way (1965), as well as the original Off-Broadway production of Hair (1967). He was married to Ruth Baker.
