Biography

Edward Norris (born Septimus Edward Norris) was an American actor. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 10 March 1911, he appeared in over 70 films between the early 1930s and the mid-1950s, often in supporting roles, as well as in television from 1951 to 1963.

He is credited as Joe Marsh in Boys Town (1938). Other film roles include uncredited parts in Queen Christina (1934) and Mad Love (1935), and appearances in They Won't Forget (1937), The Man from the Alamo (1953) and The Kentuckian (1955). On television he guest-starred in episodes of Perry Mason and made his final screen appearance in the 1963 The Third Man episode "Ghost Town".

During the Second World War Norris served as a flying instructor with the United States Army Air Forces.
