Biography
Elaine Collins is a Scottish actress and television producer. Born on 21 April 1958 in Lanarkshire, she began acting in the 1970s and appeared in guest roles in series including Play for Today and City Lights. Her credits include Lisa in EastEnders (1997) and Mrs Grant in the film Mrs Brown (1997).
From the 2000s Collins worked increasingly in production. She was associate producer on Strictly Sinatra (2001) and script editor on A Touch of Frost (2008–2010). She joined ITV Studios in 2011 as producer and executive producer on Vera (2011–2015). She later served as executive producer on Shetland (2013–2016) and Criminal Record (2024–).
Collins has been married to actor Peter Capaldi since 1991 and they have one child.
