Biography
Elisabeth Fraser (born Elisabeth Fraser Jonker, 8 January 1920 – 5 May 2005) was an American actress. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she made her Broadway debut six weeks after leaving high school in the 1940 production of There Shall Be No Night. She obtained a contract with Warner Bros. and appeared in her first film, One Foot in Heaven (1941), as Eileen Spence.
Fraser had roles in films including The Man Who Came to Dinner (1942), All My Sons (1948), A Patch of Blue (1965) as Sadie, The Graduate (1967) and Nine to Five (1980). On television she played Sgt. Joan Hogan in The Phil Silvers Show and appeared in episodes of Bewitched, Perry Mason, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Gunsmoke. Her stage career included further Broadway productions such as The Tunnel of Love.
She was married to dancer Ray McDonald from 1944 to 1952 and later to screenwriter Charles K. Peck Jr.; both marriages ended in divorce. She had three children.
