Biography
Elspeth Dudgeon (4 December 1871 – 11 December 1955) was a Scottish character actress. She appeared in numerous uncredited and small supporting roles in Hollywood films from the early 1930s onwards, with a career spanning nearly two decades across some 67 films.
Dudgeon had a background in stage acting in Scotland before moving into film. She is particularly noted for her role as Sir Roderick Femm in The Old Dark House (1932), credited as John Dudgeon, and for appearances in Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Camille (1936), Pride and Prejudice (1940), Foreign Correspondent (1940) and Now, Voyager (1942).
