Biography
Erik Hemmendorff is a Swedish film producer and writer. He was born on 14 April 1973 in Stockholm and grew up in Frösön near Östersund. He studied at the University of Photography and Film in Gothenburg.
In 2002 he co-founded the production company Platform Produktion with director Ruben Östlund. Hemmendorff has produced Östlund’s films Involuntary (2008), Play (2011), Force Majeure (2014), The Square (2017) and Triangle of Sadness (2022), as well as other titles including Pleasure (2021) and Bergman Island (2021). He has also worked as a co-producer and executive producer on additional projects.
Hemmendorff received the Lorens Prize for Best Swedish Producer in 2008 and was named Producer on the Move at Cannes in 2009. In 2015 he was awarded the Västra Götalandsregionens kulturpris.
