Biography
Ethan Tobman (born 30 May 1979) is a Canadian production designer and director. Born in Montreal, he attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His first short film, Remote, which he wrote and directed, screened at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival.
Tobman is known for his production design on films including Room (2015), for which he shared a Canadian Screen Award for Best Achievement in Art Direction/Production Design; Beautiful Boy (2018); The Report (2019); Free Guy (2021); The Menu (2022); and Madame Web (2024). He has also worked extensively on music videos and live performances, including projects for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
