Biography
Eve Pearce (1929–2023) was a Scottish actress. Born in Aberdeen, she won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began her career in repertory theatre in the early 1950s, later appearing in many Royal Shakespeare Company productions and West End plays.
Her television work spanned six decades and included guest roles in series such as Coronation Street, Torchwood (as Estelle, 2006), Midsomer Murders (as Lady Bracknell, 1999), The 10th Kingdom (as the Gypsy Queen, 2000), Him & Her (as Mrs. Bailey, 2011) and The Durrells (as Mother Kralefsky, 2017). Film credits include Topsy-Turvy (1999) as Gilbert's mother, Wimbledon (2004) and The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death (2014). She was also a published poet.
