Biography
Gail Bean, also credited as Gail Mitchell, is an American actress. Born Gail Mitchell and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia, she is the youngest of six siblings and the only daughter. Her father is NFL coach Stump Mitchell. She first took an interest in acting during a drama class at Stephenson High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from Valdosta State University, where she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
Bean is known for her role as Wanda Bell in the FX series Snowfall (2018–2023), for which she received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2024. She has appeared as Roulette in the Starz series P-Valley, and in guest roles in Atlanta (2016), Insecure (2016) and Detroiters (2017). Her film credits include Unexpected (2015), The Belko Experiment (2016) and The Piano Lesson (2024), in which she played Dolly.
