Biography
Gary Waldhorn (1943–2022) was an English actor known for his work in British television and theatre. Born in Paddington, London, he trained at the Yale School of Drama, graduating in 1967.
He appeared in numerous television series from the 1970s onwards, including Space: 1999, The New Avengers, Brideshead Revisited (as Major Wilson), Robin of Sherwood, The Bill and Lovejoy. He is particularly remembered for his regular roles as David Horton in The Vicar of Dibley (1994–2007) and Lionel Bainbridge in Brush Strokes.
Waldhorn also had an extensive stage career, performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in West End productions. He was married to theatre director and playwright Christie Dickason.
