Biography
Gavin O'Connor is an American film director, screenwriter and producer. Born on 24 December 1963 in Huntington, Long Island, New York, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career writing and producing the short film The Bet (1992), made his feature directorial debut with Comfortably Numb (1995) and directed Tumbleweeds (1999).
O'Connor directed, co-wrote the screenplay and story, and produced Warrior (2011). His other directing credits include Miracle (2004), Pride and Glory (2008), Jane Got a Gun (2015), The Accountant (2016) and The Way Back (2020). He has also directed episodes of television series including The Americans (2013) and Seven Seconds (2018). He has directed two actors to Academy Award nominations: Janet McTeer for Tumbleweeds and Nick Nolte for Warrior.
