Biography
Geneviève Lemon is an Australian actress and singer. She trained at the University of New South Wales and began her professional career in television in the early 1980s.
She is a frequent collaborator with director Jane Campion, appearing in Sweetie (1989) as Dawn 'Sweetie', The Piano (1993) as Nessie, Holy Smoke! (1999) as Rahi, and The Power of the Dog (2021) as Mrs Lewis. Other film roles include Ladies in Black (2018) and Ticket to Paradise (2022). On television she has appeared in series such as Top of the Lake (2013) and Colin from Accounts (2022).
Lemon has an extensive stage career, including the role of Mrs Wilkinson in the Australian and UK productions of Billy Elliot the Musical, for which she received the Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Musical in 2008. She has also performed in numerous productions with major Australian theatre companies.
