Biography
Geoffrey Simpson is an Australian cinematographer. He graduated from the South Australian School of Art in 1969 and later attended the London Film School.
Simpson has worked on numerous feature films, serving as director of photography on Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) and Shine (1996). His other credits include The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey (1988), Little Women (1994), Oscar and Lucinda (1997) and Cargo (2017). He has also worked as a camera operator, including on Mad Max 2 (1981).
Simpson has received Australian Film Institute awards for best cinematography for The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey, Shine and Oscar and Lucinda.
