Biography

Gerran Howell is a Welsh actor born on 25 February 1991. He began his career starring as the titular Vladimir Dracula in the CBBC series Young Dracula (2006–2014).

He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Howell has appeared in films and television including 1917 (2019) as Private Parry, the miniseries Catch-22 (2019) as Kid Sampson, Genius (2017) as Karl-Heinz Wiegels, The Song of Names (2019) as Martin (aged 17–21), Emerald City (2017) as Jack, Suspicion (2022) as Leo Newman, Ludwig (2024) as DC Simon Evans, Crusade in Jeans (2006) as Baudouin, and McDonald & Dodds (2020) as Father Luton.

Since 2025 he has played Student Doctor Dennis Whitaker in the medical drama The Pitt. His performance earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2026.
