Biography
H. Scott Salinas is an American film score composer and musician. He studied classical and jazz music at Princeton University and scoring for picture at Berklee College of Music.
He is best known for his scores for the documentaries Cartel Land (2015, with Jackson Greenberg) and the Academy Award-nominated The Square (2013), as well as feature films including Zipper (2015), Birth of the Dragon (2017), A Private War (2018), The Banker (2020) and Elevation (2024). His television credits include The Newsroom and Warrior.
In 2002 Salinas became the youngest recipient of the Grand Prize in the Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composers Competition. He has also received Cannes Lion, Clio and BMI awards for his commercial work.
