Biography
Harlan Briggs was an American actor and vaudeville performer. His stage career began in vaudeville at the start of the 20th century. He made his Broadway debut in 1926 in Up the Line and appeared in numerous productions through the 1930s, including the featured role of G. A. Appleby in It's a Wise Child (1929) and Tubby Pearson in Dodsworth (1934).
Briggs reprised the role of Tubby Pearson in the 1936 film adaptation of Dodsworth. He appeared in over 100 films, often in supporting or uncredited parts, and returned to Broadway in the 1940s while continuing his screen work. His final screen credit was in Carrie (1952). He died on 26 January 1952.
