Biography

Harry Rapf (16 October 1880 – 6 February 1949) was an American film producer. Born in New York City, he began his career in 1917 and joined Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1924 as a production manager, later becoming a staff producer.

Rapf produced The Broadway Melody (1929) and The Hollywood Revue of 1929. He created the comedic duo of Karl Dane and George K. Arthur in the late 1920s. He was one of the founding members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. His sons Maurice Rapf and Matthew Rapf also worked in film and television.
