Biography
Heinz Hoenig is a German actor. He was born on 24 September 1951 in Landsberg am Lech.
He made his film debut in the mid-1970s and achieved his breakthrough as Funkmaat Hinrich in Wolfgang Petersen's Das Boot (1981). He has since appeared in over 140 film and television productions, including multiple collaborations with director Dieter Wedel on the miniseries Der große Bellheim (1993), Der Schattenmann (1995) and Der König von St. Pauli (1998). Other credits include the 7 Zwerge films (2004, 2006) and episodes of Tatort.
Hoenig began his career in theatre after training in the United States and previously worked in various trades including as a locksmith and streetworker.
