Biography
Helen Eby-Rock (also credited as Helen Eby, Helyn Eby-Rock and Helen Eby Rock) was an American actress and stage performer. Born on 18 July 1896 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, she began her career on Broadway, appearing in productions including Dancing Mothers (1924), Harry Delmar's Revels (1927) and That's the Woman (1930). She was married to performer William Rock until his death in 1922.
Eby-Rock transitioned to film in the early 1930s with credited roles such as Kitty Cognac in Ann Vickers (1933) and Jessie Allen in The Crime of Helen Stanley (1934). She became a character actress in numerous uncredited parts, including the Manicurist in Born Yesterday (1950), an audience member in Singin' in the Rain (1952), a mother in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954), a reporter in A Star Is Born (1954) and a golfer in Pat and Mike (1952). She also appeared in small television roles and died on 20 July 1979 in Woodland Hills, California.
