Biography
Hengameh Panahi was a French-Iranian film producer and sales agent. Born in Tehran in 1956, she moved to Belgium at the age of twelve and later studied journalism and translation. She founded the international sales and production company Celluloid Dreams in Brussels in 1985 and relocated it to Paris in 1993.
Panahi was credited as a writer on Abbas Kiarostami’s Through the Olive Trees (1994). Through Celluloid Dreams she acted as producer or executive producer on films including Paradise Now (2005), I’m Not There (2007), Funny Games (2008), Chicken with Plums (2011), Bone Tomahawk (2015) and Infinity Pool (2023). She died in France on 5 November 2023.
