Biography
Ichirō Nagai (also credited as Ichiro Nagai) was a Japanese voice actor and narrator. Born on 10 May 1931 in Ikeda, Osaka, he died on 27 January 2014 in Hiroshima.
He provided voices for numerous anime films and series. Notable film roles include Jodo in The Castle of Cagliostro (1979), Mito in Warriors of the Wind (1984), and Shogun Mouro in Castle in the Sky (1986). He was also known for long-running television roles such as Namihei Isono in Sazae-san, Cherry in Urusei Yatsura, Happosai in Ranma ½, and Konaki Jijii in GeGeGe no Kitarō.
Nagai was affiliated with Aoni Production at the time of his death.
