Biography
Ivan G'Vera, born Ivan Šplíchal on 1 April 1959 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, is a Czech-American actor. He fled Czechoslovakia at the age of 18 and later trained and worked as an actor in the United States, adopting the stage name Ivan G'Vera. He is also credited as Ivan Gvera and Ivan Šplíchal.
G'Vera is best known for playing Ivan Marais on the American soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1991 to 2000, with later returns. His film credits include the Venice Hotel Concierge in Casino Royale (2006), General Losenko in Terminator Salvation (2009), a Russian President in Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), and Budenny in Child 44 (2015). He received a nomination for Outstanding Scene Stealer at the Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1998.
