Biography

Ivan Shvedoff is a Russian actor. He was born on 21 September 1969 in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). He began his career as a theatre actor with the Theater of Youth Creativity from 1979 to 1986 and studied acting at the Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy between 1987 and 1991. His film debut came in The Chekist (1992).

Shvedoff has lived in Prague since the late 1990s. He has appeared in several international productions, often in Russian or Eastern European roles. These include Enemy at the Gates (2001) as Volodya, The Bourne Supremacy (2004) as a Moscow policeman, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) as Leonid Lisenker, Child 44 (2015) as Artur's father, The Aftermath (2019) as Colonel Kutov and the series Babylon Berlin (2017) as Alexej Kardakow. He also worked as a Russian dialogue coach on The Bourne Identity.
