Biography
Jackie Hoffman is an American actress, singer and comedian. Born Jacqueline Laura Hoffman on 29 November 1960 in New York City, she began her career with Chicago's Second City improv troupe.
She is known for her one-woman shows of Jewish-themed songs and monologues, and for Broadway roles including multiple parts in Hairspray (for which she received a Theatre World Award), Calliope in Xanadu and Grandmama in The Addams Family. Film credits include Aunt Sylvia Largeman in Garden State (2004), Lady on Balcony in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and Ma in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).
Television appearances include Uma Heller in Only Murders in the Building and voice roles in American Dad!. She is married to jazz trumpeter Steve Smyth.
