Biography

James Platten Vanderbilt (born 17 November 1975) is an American screenwriter and producer. He studied at the University of Southern California.

Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay for Zodiac (2007). He co-wrote The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its 2014 sequel. He co-wrote and produced Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023), and contributed the story and produced Scream 7 (2026). He also produced Abigail (2024) and other films including Ready or Not (2019).
