Biography
Jay Acovone is an American actor born on 20 August 1955 in New York City. He trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York. His early career included a role opposite Al Pacino in the 1980 film Cruising.
Acovone has appeared in over 100 film and television credits across four decades. He is known for recurring television roles including D.A. Joe Maxwell in Beauty and the Beast (1987–1990) and Major Charles Kawalsky in Stargate SG-1 (1997–2005). Film credits include Independence Day (1996), Cast Away (2000) and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), where he played the officer who pulls over the T-X, a connection to his former Beauty and the Beast co-star Linda Hamilton.
